The Liaoyuan Municipal Government holds a meeting to advance the planning of the pharmaceutical and health industry corridor, organized by the Provincial Pharmaceutical Alliance.

　　To fully implement Jilin Province's "One Core, Six Duals" industrial spatial layout and the "Changliaomeitongbaidun Pharmaceutical and Health Industry Corridor" plan, as well as the "Liaoyuan City Implementation Plan for Promoting the Construction of the Pharmaceutical and Health Industry Corridor," on June 11, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology and the Liaoyuan Municipal Government jointly hosted the "Jilin Province Chemical Pharmaceutical Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance and Liaoyuan City’s Meeting to Advance the Implementation of the Provincial Pharmaceutical and Health Industry Corridor Plan" at the auditorium of Jilin Boda Weiye Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.

　　At the meeting, Vice Mayor Tang Yan of the municipal government, Sun Hongjun, Head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Chairman of the Jilin Province Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, as well as Duan Chengjun, Chairman of Jilin Boda Weiye Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., delivered speeches respectively.

　　Vice Mayor Tang Yan expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Provincial Pharmaceutical Industry Association, the Provincial Drug Administration, and all the expert professors for their longstanding assistance and support to our city. She noted that Liaoyuan has been designated as Jilin Province's specialty pharmaceutical industry base, and our city's Bodaweiye has been selected as the chairman unit of the Jilin Provincial Chemical Pharmaceutical Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, with the province's chemical pharmaceutical pilot-scale testing center established here. In 2018, with strong backing from the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Liaoyuan was incorporated into the province's "One Main, Six Duals" regional coordinated development initiative—the "Changliaomei Tongbai Dun Pharmaceutical and Health Industry Corridor." This year, at the Sixth Plenary Session of the Seventh Municipal Party Committee, "Sika Deer + Pharmaceutical and Health Industry" was further identified as a key pillar industry under the city's "211555" industrial layout, with plans to cultivate it vigorously and build it into a new flagship sector driving economic growth. Additionally, the city has established a Pharmaceutical and Health Industry Chamber of Commerce, while Bodaweiye is leading the creation of an innovative R&D institution, providing critical technological support for the high-quality development of the pharmaceutical and health industry—first in Liaoyuan and across the entire province.

　　Sun Hongjun, head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, delivered an important speech. He stated that, as the leading department responsible for promoting the development of the province's pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology has consistently prioritized technological innovation in this sector. To this end, the department spearheaded the drafting of "Several Policies to Support the Implementation of the 'Longliao Meitong Baidun Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Industry Corridor Development Plan (2018-2025),' " actively fostering a policy environment conducive to the growth of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. Through targeted support measures and various science and technology programs, resources have been strategically directed toward the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector, corridor regions, and alliance members. Sun Hongjun expressed his hope that Liaoyuan City would seize the current opportunities, continuously strengthening its existing advantages while keeping pace with cutting-edge advancements to achieve high-quality development in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. He also emphasized the importance of optimizing resource allocation to build distinctive industrial clusters, accelerating economic growth, and ultimately transforming Liaoyuan into a thriving cluster area worth over 10 billion yuan. Furthermore, Sun Hongjun encouraged the industry alliance to adhere to established principles, proactively exploring mutually beneficial mechanisms for shared success, and thereby fostering a collaborative force for innovation. He urged the alliance to enhance cooperation and joint efforts, fully leveraging its role as a dynamic platform for driving innovation within the industry.

　　Duan Chengjun, Chairman of the Jilin Provincial Chemical Pharmaceutical Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance and Chairman of Jilin Bodaweiye Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., introduced the achievements made by the chemical pharmaceutical alliance in areas such as new drug development, industry-academia-research collaboration, and breakthroughs in key technologies. He also emphasized the alliance's commitment to continuing to leverage its strengths as a provincial strategic hub, thereby contributing positively to the overall growth of our province's pharmaceutical industry.

　　Xie Wenbo, General Manager of Jilin Boda Weiye Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.—the chairperson unit of the Jilin Province Chemical Pharmaceutical Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance—delivered a special report on the summary of the Jilin Province Chemical Pharmaceutical Alliance’s work and the progress in building the chemical pharmaceutical pilot-scale center.

　　The Jilin Province Chemical Pharmaceutical Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance was officially approved by the Jilin Provincial Department of Science and Technology in 2013, serving as a key platform for our province’s implementation of an innovation-driven strategy. Led by Jilin Boda Weiye Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., the alliance brings together 33 outstanding universities, research institutes, and pharmaceutical enterprises across the province. The alliance aims to leverage the complementary strengths and collaborative innovation among its members, focusing on addressing major industrial innovation needs. By pooling and integrating cutting-edge resources in chemical pharmaceuticals, it seeks to establish a shared technology platform, break through critical technologies that have long hindered industry growth, and foster a sustainable, stable mechanism for industry-academia-research collaboration. Ultimately, the alliance will play a vital role as a collaborative innovation hub, propelling the rapid development of Jilin Province’s chemical pharmaceutical sector. Looking ahead, the Chemical Pharmaceutical Alliance will closely align its efforts with the province’s overarching "Pharmaceutical and Health Corridor" plan, actively carrying out various initiatives to strengthen and expand Jilin’s chemical pharmaceutical industry. Meanwhile, the alliance provided a comprehensive overview at the conference regarding the pilot-scale center’s positioning, functions, and significance, as well as its current construction status and operational progress. Additionally, updates were shared on the center’s ongoing work related to bioequivalence evaluations of generic drugs.

　　Li Bing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group at the Changchun Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Huo Yushu, Director Zhu Yongku of the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, and other experts and leaders from relevant departments delivered keynote speeches on opportunities and challenges in the pharmaceutical and healthcare innovation industry.

　　At the meeting, the Provincial Chemical Pharmaceutical Alliance signed strategic cooperation agreements separately with the Provincial Pharmaceutical Association and the CAS Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Fund. Meanwhile, Greystone Biotechnology Co., Ltd. entered into a strategic partnership with Professor Huo Yushu, laying the foundation for the province's pharmaceutical health industry and the development of the sika deer industry.

　　This conference was hosted by the Jilin Provincial Department of Science and Technology and the People's Government of Liaoyuan City, with Liaoyuan City’s Bureau of Science and Technology and Jilin Boda Weiye Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. serving as the organizers. Attendees included representatives from member units of the Provincial Chemical Pharmaceutical Industry Alliance, officials from the Provincial Pharmaceutical Office, the Provincial Pharmaceutical Industry Association, members of the Second Science and Technology Committee of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference, leaders from science and technology bureaus across various cities (prefectures), representatives from the Management Committees of Economic Development Zones, heads of pharmaceutical enterprises, and approximately 150 participants from city, county, and district-level science and technology bureaus.
